Description
The Ionic temple, located approximately 175 metres south-west of Nawton Tower, is a garden pavilion built in the 18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a pantile roof. The building has a rectangular plan and is accessed by a flight of shallow steps leading to an Ionic tetrastyle portico. The pediment is richly carved and includes a cartouche in the voussoirs, with piers that have shaped imposts. Inside, there is a stone bench with griffon-carved armrests, and the seat is supported by grooved scrolls.
