Description

The Holt is a vicarage that has been converted into a nursing home. It was built in the late 18th century and underwent alterations, extensions, and re-roofing in the late 19th century. The building features dressed sandstone on a plinth with raised and chamfered quoins, and it has a slate roof with rebuilt brick stacks. It has an end lobby plan, is one room deep, and includes rear service wings that were extended later. The structure is two stories high with an attic and has a three-window front. The main entrance is a panelled door on the right side, topped with a patterned overlight in a splayed architrave. The windows are 20th-century single-pane types set in painted raised surrounds with keyblocks. There are two gabled dormers with plain bargeboards in the attic, and the building has coped gables and shaped kneelers, along with end stacks.

On the left side, there is a projecting single-storey glazed porch with a cornice at the center, and a tripartite sash window above it with a keyed flat arch. An extension features a 12-pane sash window with a heavy plain lintel, and all windows have painted stone sills. The right side includes a staircase window in a painted raised surround with a keystone. Inside, the ground-floor front openings have panelled shutters and reveals.
