Description

Immanuel Vicarage is a vicarage, probably built in 1836. It is constructed from punched dressed sandstone blocks and features a slate roof with two levels, hipped at the left end, and has a chimney on the ridge as well as another on the intermediate gable. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a short projecting gabled wing on the left and a lower service wing extending to the right.

The vicarage is two storeys high and includes a first-floor band, deep moulded kneelers, and projecting gable copings. The round-headed doorway, located in the re-entrant and now covered by a glazed porch, has a large lintel that, like most window heads, is scored to resemble splayed voussoirs. Above the band, there is a low solid pediment. To the left, the gabled wing features one narrow window, while to the right, there is a blind window at ground floor and a sashed window with glazing bars at first floor. The service wing beyond this has altered ground floor openings and two very low sashed windows with glazing bars above. The left return of the building has two windows on each floor.

At the rear, which is situated on a sloping site, there is a rubble basement with two barred windows flanking a door that has a Tuscan surround. The ground floor features two large triple-sashed windows, while the first floor has two similar but lower windows. The service wing includes two sashed windows with glazing bars on each floor. Inside, the staircase is flush with the front wall and has stick balusters and a curtail.
