Description

This is a mid-19th century house, now used as offices. It is constructed of stuccoed walls with sandstone dressings, topped by a hipped slate roof with a modillioned eaves cornice and various chimneys. The house has a square plan of three bays by three bays, arranged over two storeys, with a lower service wing attached to the right side and at the rear. The front and left return walls are symmetrical, with the exception of the first-floor windows on the front.

The front of the house features four giant Tuscan pilasters, a first-floor sill band, and a central doorcase with Tuscan pilaster jambs and a fluted round arch, topped with a console keystone and cornice. The windows are sash windows. The ground floor has two tall windows with shouldered architraves and aprons, and a similar window above the door. The first floor has two windows in the first bay and one in the third bay, all with plain surrounds. The left return wall also has a first-floor sill band, a central doorway, and a first-floor window with a shouldered architrave, flanked at ground floor by canted bays with cornices and low pediments, and at first floor by windows with plain surrounds.

The recessed service wing to the right has rusticated quoins, a single window on each floor facing the front, matching the other front windows, and a central door with a segmental-headed architrave on the side, along with two windows on each floor. The rear wall includes, among other features, a coupled window on the ground floor and two windows above. The interior has been altered.
