Description
Haydock Fold is a farmhouse that dates from the late 17th century and has since been converted into a house. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof, which has one chimney on the ridge and another at the left gable. The building has a three-bay baffle-entry plan and stands two storeys tall.
The entrance is located at the junction of the second and third bays and has a doorway with a chamfered surround. On the ground floor, there are three double-chamfered stone mullion windows with 4, 3, and 3 lights, although the first window is missing one mullion. The first floor has three windows with chamfered surrounds and one five-light mullioned window at the right end. The rear of the building features small modernised windows on both floors.
Inside, there is an altered inglenook with a timber bressummer, an ovolo-moulded beam, and joists that have cyma-stopped chamfers. The original purlin roof remains intact.
