Description
Pleasington Lodge and the gateway to Woodfold Park are a pair of buildings dating from around 1800. Originally constructed as a single dwelling, the building has since been altered and partially enlarged to include a house and garage. The lodges are built of sandstone ashlar. Each lodge is single-storied and square, with broadly splayed corners and a pyramidal roof. The roof of the left-hand lodge has been recently extended to the rear, matching the original materials, and features an octagonal north end with a lower storey. The front and side faces have round arches; those at the front are glazed with radiating glazing bars above smaller windows, while other windows have altered rectangular glazing. The rear of the right-hand lodge now contains a garage door. Between the lodges are cylindrical gate piers decorated with bands, connected by short screen walls with round-headed arches. Ornamental iron gates are fitted within these archways.
