Description

Medora and Holmlea are a pair of mid-19th century houses located in Robin Hood's Bay. They are constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled and margined sandstone, topped with pantiled roofs featuring stone ridges, copings, and kneelers. Each house has three storeys and one wide bay. The central doors are paired and set within doorcases that have alternately-reeded panelled pilasters, a reeded frieze, and an open pediment above a radial fanlight. The original door of Medora has three fancy panels, while Bloomswell features a modern door. The late 19th-century windows are 4-pane sashes, with those of Holmleigh set in wide wood architraves.
