Description
Windy Ridge is a house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone with a rendered addition, topped with a pantiled roof featuring stone coping and a kneeler. The house is situated on a sloping site, with an external stone stair leading to the entrance. It has two storeys and a high basement, with one wide bay and another bay that is canted back to the right, along with an added attic above.
The entrance, located in the right first bay, features a three-panel door beneath a small bracketed wooden hood. To the left, there is a 16-pane sash window, and above it, a 12-pane sash window. The right bay is mostly blank, except for a 9-pane sash window on the ground floor. The building has a moulded eaves course, with coping and a kneeler on the left side. The right return displays two replaced 16-pane sashes and a 12-pane fixed light. The added attic is of full storey height and includes paired sash windows. There is a small pent rear extension, which is not considered of special interest.
