Description
Brereton is a house located in Robin Hood's Bay, built in the early 19th century. It features herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone and a roof covered with Welsh slates. The front of Belmont Place has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with one main bay and a narrow staircase bay on the right. The ground floor includes a through-passage leading to the Esplanade, which has a six-panel door. Above this door is a twelve-pane sash window, and there is a plain fixed attic window. Two small staircase lights are present, with the lower one being chamfered on the right. The Esplanade elevation has one and a half bays, with all modern windows except for a sixteen-pane sash window above the passage. A tall chimney is located on the left side of the building. Brereton is included in the listing for its group value.
