Description
Bramble Carr is an early 18th-century farmhouse that has undergone some alterations. It is constructed from coursed roughly-squared sandstone. The roof has been renewed with large clay pantiles and features a stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and an off-centre ridge stack. The building may have originally had a hearth-passage entry plan. It stands two storeys high with three wide bays. There is a two-panel door on the left side, and on each floor, there are three chamfered stone-mullioned windows with two and three lights. The ground floor windows are set under heavy lintels, while the upper windows are positioned just below the eaves. The square kneelers add to the architectural detail. A cottage to the right and a garage extension to the left are not of special interest.
