Description
Stepping Stones Antique Shop is a building that likely dates from the late 18th century and consists of two houses, one of which serves as a shop, along with an outbuilding. The structure is made of coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and features a roof covered with plain clay tiles, complete with stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks.
The building is two storeys high and has three wide bays. On the ground floor, there are two boarded doors alternating with three sash windows, while the upper floor has similar windows. All windows have vertical bars, except for a 16-pane sash window located on the ground floor to the right. The eaves are stepped, and the building has slightly pointed kneelers and banded chimneys.
To the left, there is a range of one-storey outbuildings of various constructions, featuring boarded single and double doors along with one small window. On the left return, above a shouldered-arched cart entrance, there is a datestone inscribed with the year 1856. Additionally, a mounting block is attached to the wall.
This building is included for its group value with Lealholm Bridge.
