Description
A terrace of six houses, numbered 1-9, located in Fylingdales, near Robin Hood's Bay, was built in the early to mid-19th century and subsequently altered. The exterior is rendered, likely over brickwork, and features pantiled roofs and stone chimney stacks. Each house has three storeys and a single wide bay. The original doors retain three decorative panels, some set within doorcases featuring reeded pilasters and bracketed open pediments, with radial fanlights, most of which have been blocked. Number 6 has a later porch with a tented hood. The doorcases of numbers 2 and 3 have been damaged, and number 1 has been altered to create a shop front. Original windows consist of 16-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, with Yorkshire lights on the second floors. Some windows have been replaced. Number 2 has a modern dormer window, and number 6 has a replacement window that breaks the eaves line. Numbers 4 and 5 have larger window openings and are included in the listing due to their contribution to the group value of the terrace.
