Description
This barn, located 20 meters south-west of Beck Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century and was formerly part of Beck Farm. It features a timber frame, with weatherboarding on the farmyard side and brick encasing on the other side, topped with a plain tile roof. The barn has eight bays and includes hipped porches at the third bay in from each end on the farmyard side, with double doors on the opposite side that also has ventilation slits. The roof is half-hipped. Inside, the barn has a queen-strut roof with raking struts extending from the tie-beam to the junction of the butt-purlins and principal rafters, along with collars and curved windbraces connecting the rafters to the purlins. There are braces from the posts to the tie-beams.
