BEAULIEU SOWLEY SZ 39 NE 14/2 Barn 20m south-west of Beck Farmhouse 6.5.77

Barn, formerly part of Beck Farm. Mid C18. Timber-frame, weatherboarded on farmyard side, encased in brick on other side, plain tile roof. 8 bay barn with hipped porches to 3rd bay in from each end on farmyard side and double doors opposite on other side which also has ventilation slits. Roof ½-hipped. Inside barn is queen-strut roof with raking struts from tie-beam to junction of butt-purlines and principle rafters. Above collars. Curved windbraces from rafters to purlins Braces from posts to tiebeams.
