Description
The Oaks is a cottage dating from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of rendered cob and features a thatched roof. The building is oriented with its end facing the road and the rear facing a lane. It is 1½ storeys high and has two bays, with an added single-storey bay at one end. The lane side has a 2-light casement window in each bay. The garden front includes a gabled porch near the centre of the right-hand bay, which has a half-glazed door, along with a 2-light casement window beside it and another in the left bay. There are three 2-light eyebrow dormers above. The right-hand end has 20th-century additions to the low bay, and there is a stack at the right end as well as in the centre of the taller section. The roof is hipped at the left end, sloping down to the lower hipped bay.
