Description
Malwood Walk House is a small country house dating from the early 20th century, built in a Timber-frame construction with brick infill, with some gables tilehung, brick detailing, and a stone slate roof. It exemplifies the Arts and Crafts Domestic Revival style. The house has an L-shaped layout, consisting of a main four-bay range and a two-bay projecting wing at one end, creating the base of the "L". The wing is designed to convincingly resemble a Tudor building. On the left-hand gable of the main wing is a two-light casement within a tilehung gable, with a single casement window. A two-light casement is located in the right-hand bay of the wing, and an external brick chimney with a moulded stack is situated between the bays. Two hipped dormers, each with a two-light casement, are on the left and one on the right, overhanging the right-hand gable. A ridge stack sits on the junction of the roofs. The garden front features the projecting wing on the right-hand side, with a full-height glazed projection, canted at each end and a central bow, all beneath an overhanging gable supported by curved brackets, including a two-light casement. The sides of the wing and the main range have three- or four-light casement windows on both floors. Two hipped roof dormers are on the wing's roof. A ridge stack with three octagonal shafts is located on the main range.
