Description

The Old Cottage is a cottage dating to 1728, with later 20th-century additions. It is constructed of brick, with some blue headers, a tilehung gable, and an old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys and originally four bays, with a rear range added later. The front elevation features a brick gabled porch to the left of centre, containing a round-headed archway and a six-panel top-lit door. The porch gable is almost a pediment. Above the porch is a datestone reading 1728. The other bays have tall 20th-century three-light casement windows under original cambered arches, a first-floor band, and other 18th-century three-light casements. All windows have leaded diamond panes. The roof is half-hipped with a ridge stack to the left of centre.
