Description
This icehouse, located 150 meters south-west of The Mill House in Boldre, dates from the early 19th century. It features a brick passage and chamber that are covered by earth. The vaulted passage measures 2.5 meters long and retains the remains of the frames for both inner and outer doors. At the end of the passage, there is a square opening leading into a shallow dome that has a diameter of 3 meters and sits above a pit that is approximately 3 meters deep. The roof of the pit includes a small central opening that connects to a square concrete-framed hole on top.
