Description
The trial tower, built around 1880 for A.T.T. Peterson, is located south of the North Lodge and Stableblock. It is constructed of mass concrete in 'lifts' and features a square plan with four stages. The ground floor stage has high-set openings on each face, while the tall second stage contains two openings, and there is a central opening in the third stage. Moulded strings separate the stages, and there is a heavy cornice below the top stage. The tower is capped with two round-headed openings and a coping at the top. Notably, there is a large crack running down one face, which likely halted construction.
