Description

The Coach House, located north of Northerwood House, is a stable block dating to the mid-to-late 18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century and conversion to flats in 1973. Constructed primarily of brick, with some stuccoed areas, it features a slate roof. The main stable block is two storeys and comprises a three-bay-by-two-bay layout. The central bay slightly projects and is gabled, featuring a recessed arched panel at half-height. A doorway is positioned centrally on the ground floor, arching upwards, and a three-light casement window sits above, integrated into the arch. The first floor is raised across the facade, seemingly springing from the arch. Flanking bays have paired twelve-pane sash windows, with two two-light casement windows on the first floor. The roof is hipped. A two-storey, two-bay wing extends to one side in the 19th century, set back from the main block, and a long, single-storey wing is located to the rear.
