Description

Cobblers Cottage and Former Broughton Craft Shop is a house and former shop located on Griffin Street in Broughton-in-Furness. The date stone inscribed "AD/1672" suggests an earlier construction, but the building is actually from the 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. It features roughcast stone with a slate roof and is two storeys high with two bays.

On the ground floor, there is a small-paned bow window with a frieze and cornice, along with a shop window that has three-light fixed glazing. The building has two entrances; one is located between the bays with a plank door, while the second bay has a four-panel door with an overlight. The first floor contains sash windows with glazing bars, and the date stone is positioned between them. A cross-axial stack with a cornice is present on the roof. Inside, the building features chamfered beams and a fireplace with a corbelled lintel.
