Description

The Black Cock Inn is a public house located on the north side of Princes Street in Broughton West, Broughton-in-Furness. It likely dates from the 17th century, with some later alterations. The building is constructed of roughcast stone and features a slate roof. It stands two stories tall and has five bays, with the end two bays probably added later. The windows are sashed with single glazing bars and horns, and they have plaster surrounds. The entrance is situated between the first and second bays, as well as at the fourth bay, which has paired pivoted doors and a loading door above. Large cross-axial stacks are positioned flanking the third bay. Inside, the inn includes chamfered beams and a small spice cupboard with a door.
