The cross located south of the Church of St Michael is a churchyard cross that has been adapted as a sundial. It dates from the 12th century and is made of pink sandstone. The base features a stepped socket stone that has been split and clamped together. The shaft of the cross has chamfered edges, and the top is flat, featuring an 18th-century brass sundial plate that is without inscription or gnomon. For further reference, see the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, Westmorland, 1936, plate 37.
