Description
The mounting block at the east end of the Church of St Michael dates from the late 17th century and is made of red sandstone. It features steps on either side of a rectangular structure that leads up to a square mounting stone. This type of mounting block is unusual in Cumbrian churchyards and was likely provided for the Earls of Lonsdale.
