Description

No 1 Cottage, part of the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, dates from the 17th century. It is constructed of white-washed stone rubble and built on natural boulders, topped with a slate roof. The building has two squat chimneys and stands at two low storeys. An open gabled porch features a slate bench and a boarded door inside. There are two 6-paned sash windows on the ground floor and three on the upper floor. A lean-to addition is located on the left side of the cottage.
