Description

This is a barn dating from 1866, as indicated by the inscription "F.M.C. 1866" above the entrance. It is built from coursed Skiddaw slate, featuring through-slates and sandstone quoins, and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn has two storeys and includes central plank doors set within a segmental sandstone surround. There is an additional entrance to the left and openings to the right, both framed in sandstone surrounds. A slated canopy extends over the ground floor, with a central loft door positioned above. The barn is listed partly for its group value with the adjoining farmhouse.
