STAVELEY-IN-CARTMEL FIELD BROUGHTON SD 38 SE 10/86 Seatle Farmhouse and 25.3.70 attached barn

House and barn. Early C18 with additions. Stone rubble with slate roofs, the house roughcast. House of 2 storeys and 4 bays, the 2nd 2 bays lower, possibly later. Dripcourse to 1st 2 bays, raised over gabled porch. Windows are sashed with vertical glazing bars and horns but 4th bay has casements. Entrance between 1st and 2nd bays has glazed door and C20 timber porch. Entrance to 4th bay has lean-to canopy on iron posts and bench. Gable-end stacks. Lean-to outbuilding to left has open front. Barn projects to right, with barn entrance to left return, cow house entrance and 2 dripcourses to gable end and later outshut under catslide roof to right return; lean-to outshut to rear. Rear of house has casement windows. Interior not inspected but recorded as having spice cupboard door with reading: "CRI 1733', chamfered beams, plank and muntin partitions, doors and stair.
