Description
Carleton Green is a house that has been converted into a hotel, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of stuccoed stone with ashlar dressings and features slate roofs. The building is two storeys high with six bays; the end bays are lower and set back. It has a rusticated plinth and a ground floor sill band, along with coped gables. The windows are fitted with architraves and are sashed with glazing bars, although the ground-floor window in the sixth bay and the first-floor windows in the first and sixth bays have a single glazing bar. The entrance, located in the third bay, features a gabled half-glazed porch. There are four gable-end stacks. Inside, the property boasts a turned staircase with stick balusters and a fluted newel at the wreathed end. Some of the doors are panelled and set in architraves, with some featuring pediments. The front room has a notable plaster cornice.
