Description
This drinking fountain, dated 1891, is located approximately 20 meters from the entrance to Hole House on the south side of the road in Claife High Wray. It is constructed of dressed slate with ashlar dressings. The fountain features a crow-stepped gable over an elliptical-arched recess, which has an impost band that runs around the recess. The trough has rounded angles. Above the impost, there is a datestone with the initials AJRA, and below the impost, a stone reads "IN MEMORY OF HAPPY DAYS." To the right of the fountain, there is a short wall and an end pier with a stone bench.
