Description
This public drinking fountain, built around 1895, is made of ashlar limestone and designed as a wall with offsetting ends that rise to gabled copings. The central section extends a further course and is similarly coped, featuring a triangular gablet. At the center, there is a two-centred chamfered arched recess that houses the water source, which is piped through from the back and flows into a cantilevered semi-circular bowl. This bowl is finely decorated with fin-de-siècle leaves and has an inscription around the rim that reads "IN REMEMBRANCE OF MAE---R WILLIAMS BRYNGWYN." Above the arch, there is an inscription that states, "WHOSOEVER DRINKETH OF THIS WATER SHALL THIRST AGAIN: BUT WHOSOEVER DRINKETH THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM SHALL NEVER THIRST."
