Description
Number 2 Eskin Street is a house built around 1875. It features a combination of slate rubble with sandstone and brick dressings, topped with a Lakeland slate roof. The building has a gable end facing the street and stands three storeys tall with three bays on the entrance front. A central projecting closed canted porch with a gabled roof is present, flanked by arched windows that have decorative heads. Above, there are similar arched windows, paired in the center, and smaller versions on the top floor. All windows are two-pane sashes. The gable end includes a two-storey canted bay with a single window above. The wall surface is very decorative, with slate laid in thin courses without mortar, complemented by sandstone bands and architraves. The window arches are made of two colors of brick, red and yellow, and there is an arcaded band at the top floor impost level. The roof extends on decorative wooden brackets.
