Description
Castlerigg Manor, a large mansion built in the mid-19th century, features an irregular plan and is constructed from stone and slate rubble with ashlar quoins and a plinth. The building has a slate roof with gables and stands two storeys high. It includes bay windows, and the upper casement windows are long and narrow, framed in stone architraves. A square tower rises to four storeys at the east end, topped with Queen Anne gables. There are some stone-mullioned windows with two and three lights and round heads, along with carved and cusped bargeboards and tall stone chimneys. The gabled porch has a Tudor entrance, and the interior is designed in Gothic style with Tudor arches. A stable block is present but is not included in the listing.
