Description
Nos. 4 and 6 Eskin Street are two houses built around 1875, designed as handed pairs. They are constructed from slate rubble with sandstone and brick dressings, topped with Lakeland slate roofs. Each house has three storeys and three bays. The central entrances are paired, featuring panelled doors and a fanlight above, with a paired window located above the doors. On either side of the entrances, there are two-storey canted bays. The second floor has a paired window in the center and smaller single windows on the sides, all of which are two-pane sashes. The hipped roof has a single gabled dormer on No. 4. The wall surfaces are very decorative, with slate laid surface dry in thin courses, complemented by sandstone bands and architraves. The window arches are made of two colors of brick, red and yellow, and there is an arcaded band at the top floor impost level. The roof projects on decorative wooden brackets.
