Description
Nos. 8 and 10 Eskin Street are a pair of houses built around 1875. They are constructed from slate rubble with sandstone and brick dressings, topped with a Lakeland slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic and consist of three bays. The central entrance features paired doorways, with a panelled door for No. 8 and a replacement door for No. 10, both having fanlights above. Each house has single-storey canted bay windows on either side of the entrance. On the first floor, there is a paired window in the centre and single windows on the sides. The roof has a paired gable dormer at the centre and gable end stacks. The wall surfaces are very decorative, with slate laid surface dry in thin courses, and there are sandstone quoins, bands, and architraves. The window arches are made of two colours of brick, red and yellow, and there is a toothed cornice. The roof projects on decorative wooden brackets.
