Description

Orchard Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, although a date of 1678 over the entrance was added in the 20th century. The cottage features whitewashed slate rubble walls built on large plinth stones, topped with a graduated greenslate roof and slate rubble chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has two bays, with a lower single-bay extension to the left. The property includes a 20th-century slate porch with a 20th-century door, and 20th-century casement windows set in plain reveals beneath wooden lintels. The extension has a plank door and a 20th-century casement window, along with a further blocked doorway to the right. Orchard Cottage is listed for its group value with Millbeck Towers.
