Description
Millbeck Towers Cottages and Water Authority storeroom is a water-powered fulling mill that has been converted into two houses and a storeroom. It was built in 1805 and underwent some alterations in the 20th century for John Daniel Banks. The building features roughcast walls beneath a graduated greenslate roof, with brick chimney stacks.
The storeroom is two storeys high and has four bays, with an additional two-bay recessed extension. The converted houses are three storeys tall, with two bays each. The storeroom has plank doors and steps leading up to a loft doorway. The windows throughout include casement styles with glazing bars, some containing 30 panes, all set in plain reveals. The houses have 20th-century doors and sash windows in plain reveals, while the original mill windows are located on the top floor. The rear of the building has similar doors and windows.
