Description
Millbeck Place is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features painted roughcast walls with V-jointed quoins and is topped by a graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and roughcast chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has two bays. The entrance consists of a panelled door beneath a radial fanlight, set within a pilastered pedimented doorcase. On either side, there are two-storey canted bay windows that contain sashes with glazing bars, all framed in painted stone surrounds. Originally named Skiddaw Bank, it was the residence of Mr. Dover in 1829, who owned the nearby woollen mill.
