Description
The Bowman Monument is a headstone located on the east side of the path, approximately 28 meters south of St Peter's Church. It dates from 1799 and is made of ashlar with copper plates. The monument features angle pilasters and a swan-necked open pediment. The rectangular plate commemorates Thomas Bowman, who died in 1799, along with his wife, Margaret, who died in 1773, and their daughter, Mary, who died in 1780, concluding with a verse. Additionally, there is an escutcheon-shaped plate below that records other members of the Bowman family, with dates of death ranging from 1829 to 1871.
