Description

Newbiggin House Farm is a house dating to 1768, located in Waberthwaite, near Newbiggin. The date and the initials “I.M.S.” (likely Singleton?) are inscribed on a heart-shaped panel above the front door. The house has undergone later additions and alterations. It is constructed of incised stucco and has a graduated slate roof with stone coping and kneeler at the north end, alongside rendered chimneys. The building is two storeys and three bays, arranged symmetrically. A part-glazed door is centrally positioned, flanked by sash windows on either side, with three further sash windows above. All windows have glazing bars and are set within stone surrounds.
