WITHERSLACK SD 48 NW 3/42 Barn to north of Middlelow Wood

Barn. Date uncertain, but probably C18 with re-used cruck truss; later additions. Stone rubble with slate roof. West elevation has later lean-to outshut with 2 stable doors and garage doors to south return. Barn entrance to north has paired pivoted doors. Extension to north has pentice over 2 doors. North gable end has entrance with pivoted wide-boarded door with horizontal battens and one vertical batten and wood latch, hung with inner face out. Interior not inspected, said to have possibly late medieval full cruck truss with spurs and principal rafters, roof itself is higher; signs of 2 cross beams below spurs and collar.
