Description

Pear Tree Cottage and the adjoining barn are a farmhouse and barn located in Askham the Green. They feature early 18th century and 19th century alterations. The buildings have painted rubble walls and are topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which includes brick and stone chimney stacks. The structure is two storeys high and consists of two bays, with the left side housing a single-bay barn under a common roof. The centre of the cottage has a 20th century door flanked by sash windows set in 19th century stone surrounds. Smaller casement windows on the upper floor appear to be older. The barn features a large narrow flat-headed doorway.
