Description
How Bank Farmhouse is a house, likely built in the mid-18th century, with a date of 1749 noted on a beam in the barn opposite. It features later additions and alterations. The structure is made of rendered rubble with quoins and has graduated slate roofs with rendered chimneys. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a wing that projects to the rear. It is two storeys high and has a four-bay facade. The entrance includes a plank door set in a gabled porch, flanked by paired sash windows and a single sash window to the right, with two additional sash windows on the first floor. To the left, there is a two-bay threshing barn that contains a window and a winnowing door, along with large double doors at the rear. The lower byre on the far left has two doors and loft access above.
