Description

Rose Cottage is a late 17th-century house located in Ireby, Ruthwaite. The house has painted rendered walls and a graduated greenslate roof, with brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has two bays. A 20th-century door is partly set within a 17th-century chamfered surround. Two original windows with stone mullions have been widened, and there are 20th-century replacements to the right. There is a small, original fire window to the far right. The house is grouped for group value with John Peel Cottage.
