Description

The garden wall and drinking trough in front of Moot Hall date from the early 19th century and late 19th century, respectively. The wall is made of mixed coursed limestone and sandstone rubble, forming a low enclosure around the garden on three sides, with occasional upright sections of rusticated red sandstone. The central oval sandstone trough, which is damaged, features a shaped back and a cast-iron lion-head spout. This structure has group value with Moot Hall.
