Description
The kennels and stables located to the north-east of the barn at Greenlands were likely built around 1820, at the same time as the house extension. They are constructed from snecked sandstone and feature graduated slate roofs with stone ridges. The taller roof of the tack room includes a stone chimney at the south end. The building is single storey and consists of three kennels on the left side, with the tack room and three stables on the right. Each kennel has a plank door and a 16-pane sash window set in stone surrounds, along with short dog runs that are enclosed by 3-foot rubble walls topped with segmental copings and 4-foot wrought-iron railings, which include wrought-iron gates. The tack room has a plank door and a 20-pane sash window in stone surrounds. Each stable features a plank door and a sash window with glazing bars, also set in stone surrounds.
