Description
Bolt How Farmhouse is a house that was added to an earlier ramp barn. It features a panel with the names John and Jane Jackson dated 1799, set in a moulded frame above the door. The exterior is finished in incised stucco, with coursed, squared rubble at the rear. The roof is made of graduated slate, complete with stone coping and a kneeler at the west end, and there are rendered chimneys at the ends. The house is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys and three bays. It has a chamfered plinth and eaves, with end pilasters and a lintel band at the first floor. The central entrance has a panelled door framed by an architrave, flanked by single sash windows with glazing bars on each floor. Above the door is a trompe l'oeil window, and there is a large two-light stair window at the rear. All windows are set in stone surrounds. The adjoining barn range is not of interest.
