Description
Bank End Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date from the early 18th century. They are constructed of stone rubble, with the house part being roughcast and featuring a slate roof. The house has two storeys and three bays, with an outhouse attached to the left side, from which the barn projects.
On the ground floor, the windows have dripstones; the window in the first bay has a casement, while the third bay features small-paned fixed glazing with an opening pane. The first-floor windows are sashed, with the first two bays having single glazing bars and horns, and the third bay having vertical glazing bars. There is a gable-end stack.
A passage runs between the outhouse and the barn, which has a continuous outshut under a cat slide roof on the right return, also featuring an outshut under a cat slide roof. A stone mounting block is located at the gable end of the barn, which has wide entrances with timber lintels leading to the outshuts. The left return of the barn includes pivoted doors beneath a pentice. The left return of the outbuilding has an entrance, a window, and an owl hole. The rear of the house features an outshut under a cat slide roof, with 2- and 3-light casements and a loading door leading to the outhouse. The interior has not been inspected.
