Detached house with gate piers. C17, but C19 N front (towards stream) rebuilding. Rendered rubble, some painted, and some slatehanging, slate roof. The right gable is slate-hung, with one 4-pane sash; the roof sweeps down to the road side above a curved corner, and there is a large slate-hung lateral stack to the rear wall, which also has a pointed quadrant window with radial bars. The left gable has at first floor a fixed casement with 4 vertical bars and lapped glazing, and a large 4-pane sash at ground floor. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: 2 gate piers at entrance SE of cottage, tall rubble plinths surmounted by late medieval finials, probably reused from the former chapel (qv) at South Furzehill Farmhouse and similar to those at North Furzehill Farmhouse (qv).
