Description

The south wall of the churchyard and adjacent gateway date probably from the early to mid-19th century. The wall is constructed of rubble sandstone with dressed stone copings, standing approximately 6 feet high. It incorporates a large arched recess at its left-hand end, which previously housed the stocks. To the right of the wall is a gateway adjoining the property at number 18 Church Street. This gateway features rubble construction with Hamstone coping and dressings, and a four-centred moulded arch.
