Description
The wall bounding the north side of Church Street between 16 and 18 Church Street dates from the early to mid-19th century. It consists of two sections. The section from No 16 is approximately 12 feet high and made of rubble red sandstone, featuring brickwork on the north side and a brick coping on top. The lower section of the wall to the left has rounded reveals and a rebate for a missing gate. The lower section of the wall facing the churchyard is stepped and has dressed stone coping, also made of rubble red sandstone. An iron railing sits on top of the coping. This wall is included for its group value.
