Description
Nos 5 and 7 Priory Green are medieval buildings that incorporate remains of the original Priory structures, although they have been largely modified in the 16th century and remodeled in the 19th century when they were converted into cottages. The exterior features rubble and slate hanging, modern plain tiles, and stone and brick stacks. The cottages are two storeys tall and have an L-shaped layout. There are five windows with leaded iron casements set in wooden frames, and the ground floor openings have semi-circular relieving arches. The door has a stop-moulded frame and a ribbed design. On the south side, there is an exposed stone chimney breast. Notable features include a good 16th century three-light stone mullion window with cusped head leaded lights, as well as a 17th century mullion and transom cross window.
